Google Is about to Bring Wi-Fi to Malls, Schools and other Public Places in India

Google, a unit of Alphabet Inc, stated on Tuesday that it launched Google Station in India, a service that pursuits to deepen its reach and provide fast and free Wi-Fi service to millions of people throughout the country, as the search engine giant desires to carry more and more people on to its Google platform.

The company said on Tuesday that under this plan, Google will for set up of Wi-Fi hot spots in places that are crowded with massive quantity of people, such as malls and transit stations, and in places for social hangouts such as cafes and universities.

Vice President Caeser Sengupta mentioned about Next Billion Users at Google when he said, “The goal is to give people many hot spots within a few minutes walk from their home, university, or workplace, unified by a simple login process that works across all of them”. He also said that the company is thinking of monetizing the service offered in railway stations.

Right now, 53 railway stations throughout India is this free Wi-Fi service by Google in association with RailTel. The company says that its planning to raise the scale to 100 by the year end.

The search giant also said that in future Indonesia and Philippines are also going to be served with Google Station facilities.
